I've had my vista Parallels running for a while now and have been slowly moving data from my external HDD, slowly being the key word there! If I plug the drive in another vista PC the data moves on and off it at a decent speed, yet from within parallels it's dire! Same is true for memory sticks, got a 1gb kingston, which again, in a friends dell copying data to and from is quick in the VM, took 15 mins to copy 400mb! Running the latest build of parallels and Mac OS, any hidden tweaks etc that might help?

How do you connect to the sticks 'directly' through Parallels or with shared folders?

How do things work when you connect things directly to the OS X side?

Just ran tests copying from the stick when on the mac os and in parallels....when on mac 840mb of data copied off in 1min 50s. In Parallels.....8min 30s!! Something suggests to me that's not quite right! When in Parallels it's being access directly and not via a shared folder. Any ideas ?

    Hello WillT,

Please, give me a link on your USB device.
Did you try to make a shared folder of your external hard drive?

    Best regards,
