Hi everyone, sorry if this question has already been asked, I have tried to find it but without success.
I have a recent issue where my USB flash drive is coming up as a network drive instead of a removable drive. When it is connected, the device menu shows it in the USB section and ticked as Mass storage, but in reality under my computer in windows, it is a network drive and when I scroll to my mac desktop, the drive is on the desktop still where as before when I connected the flash drive to the VM, the drive would disappear from the mac desktop until the flash drive was disconnected from the VM. This is a real pain for me as I have 5 network drive already as part of my user login when I use the VM to VPN into my works network, and the drive letter the usb flash drive wants to use as a network drive is already used by the exsisting network drive, therefore the flash/network drive will not even show up until I disconnect the existing drive that conflicts with it.

Can anyone shed some light on a fix for this annoying issue? would be much appreciated.

having the same issue (with a usb dash board for my race bike) -- shows up sometimes, in "Devices, USB, [device name]", and I can assign it to the XP machine under Preferences, USB, but can't find it in Windows and the device's software can't find it either.
