I now have Windows 7 mostly running in Parallels 5. However I'm still having trouble with the Microphone, an Andrea Pure Audio USB Headset. With some mucking around I can usually get it to work. However every time I restart Windows, Windows seems to have completely forgotten it. Furthermore Dragon Naturally Speaking, the main reason I'm using Windows in the first place, can't find the microphone at all and even once I get the microphone recognized, Dragon doesn't recognize it as one it's seen before and wants me to retest it's volume and sound quality. Searching I see some other folks had problems like this, but not since Parallels 3 as far I've noticed. Any ideas there? Ideally I'd like just one headset that works for both the Mac and Windows, and in both at the same time, but I can attach more than one set if that helps. (So far trying a basic, non-USB line-in headset seems to have the same issues.)
Same USB Mic issue in Parallels V6 I had your problem with Parallels V5 and Parallels Tech sent me to an off-site link that referred to Configuration settings that changed after V3! So that wasn't any help at all. I've tried everything, including purchasing ever-higher quality headsets...all to no avail. I was hoping that V6 would solve the issues. Now the headset is recognized when I fire up the Windows XP VM, as is my audio profile. But I still can't get the audio quality to a point that Dragon doesn't feed back gibberish no matter how slowly or distinctly I speak. Like you, I've only been able to find discussion threads. It would be nice of Parallels would look into this issue as Dragon is becoming ubiquitous in the PC world and now Dragon has release Dragon Dictate for Mac 2.0.
