I am trying to use the above scanner and have been unsucessful. First, in order to get Parallels to recognize the scanner I have to turn it off and then turn it back on (just unplugging and plugging it back in gives the much discussed 5-10 second error message). Second, once turned on I receive a message that the scanner will run faster if connected to a USB 2 port [it is connected to a USB 2 port]. Third, when I initiate a scan it crashes Parallels/Windows XP, I have to turn the VM on and get the following error:

Error type : Windows stop error (A message appears on a blue screen with error code information)
Solution available? : No (see Next steps)
What does this error mean? : Windows has encountered an error from which it cannot recover and needs to restart
    Cause : Unknown device driver
Computer symptoms : A message appears on a blue screen with error code information (for example: e.g. 0x0000001E, KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED)
Additional steps for you to take : Important: Please continue to send error reports so analysts at Microsoft can study and try to correct the problem as quickly as possible

Previously I would get a stop execution error and that the cause was in connection with the display driver but the last two times I've tried I get the above error. I have the latest drivers installed for the scanner.

Any thoughts on how to get this scanner to work would be greatly appreciated.
