I like to use pre-set Shortcut keys in Windows 10 by setting them in desktop short cuts I create from files or URL's etc. I can open web pages I use in my work and files I keep my records on, etc. with quick key strokes. No problem opening a file that runs in a Windows program, but I can't seem to make a shortcut boot a Mac Numbers file using a CTRL-Alt-(key) as with others. By right clicking on the shortcut I can choose "Open on Mac" and it boots it up right away, perfectly. Is there any way to make it work using a regular shortcut key? Some trick?
I'm using Windows 10. You didn't understand my problem. I have no problem adapting myself to the Mac keyboard for Windows operations. I use the Option key instead of the Alt key for a CTRL-ALT-(key) desktop shortcut. As a Windows user for 30 years, I can launch any URL with CTRL-(alt/option)-(key) and it pops up instantly on the Mac desktop in my default browser. I can launch any file the same way, in it's appropriate WINDOWS application. (For instance a Word document). But I can't get a Mac-Numbers file or a Mac-Pages file to launch the same way. I can double click the Windows desktop shortcut and they will launch appropriately. But not with the shortcut keys in these same shortcuts, that I put in Properties. Also, often after entering a shortcut key and clicking "Apply", I'll go back into Properties and the shortcut key "didn't take". It's gone. In Properties, in the General tab, these shortcuts are set to open with Numbers or Pages....but they don't do it from the keyboard.
