Trying this again as my earlier posting doesn't seem to have been entered.

I'm trying to install a second VM under Parallels 5. Have already installed Win 7 32 bit; now working to install XP Home SP3. I'm working with a new OEM CD on an iMac quad running Snow Leopard 10.6.2.

I'm installing XP, in part, to run a particular program that also runs (legally) on an XP netbook/portable (PC). For that program to run efficiently, the same user and user data paths should exist on both machines.

For the purpose of my inquiry, assume the user name I'm using for installation is XXXX.

Despite my attempts to install XP with the default user/administrator as XXXX, Parallels 5 set-up creates a single user named "Owner." Although the display for user "Owner" can be changed to XXXX post-installation, such change is only superficial--the user data paths folder remains named "Owner."

What do I have to do to force Parallels to allow XP to set up the default user as XXXX.

Thank you for any assistance you are able to provide. --mbm
