Maybe someone can answer my question. I was wondering how you acn get Parallels 4 to recognize an external drive(other than as a network). I was trying to install a multi-disk program from an external DVD/CD firewire drive since the internal super drive to my macbook is broken. However, it would only recognize it as a "network" (from the macbook) not as a physical external drive. I was able to install the first disk by using the Run command but when it asked for the next disk it was looking for the internal drive location. Any suggestions short of replacing the internal drive in the macbook? I am running Windows XP in the shell. It seems like there should be a way to do this. Could it be as simple as using a USB external instead of a firewire?
