I am attempting to set up a small office (3 users) to all access our Contact Management System (ACT!) on our new server. I have no problem getting to the app, and we share the data fine, but I would like to use our local e-mail programs (outlook) to send e-mail from within ACT. Does anyone know if this is at all possible?

Any comments or even suggestions on where I can look for more info would be greatly appreciated.

(I'm fairly new to this, so please bare with me for any dumb questions).

    Thanks.
    Paul.

That did not seem to work. The only options I have when trying to set up e-mail in ACT are Outlook Express and Internet Mail.

My main reason for this is so all e-mails that a person sends ends up in their personal outbox. Most of our e-mails are sent through ACT, but there are quite a bit that are not.

Any other ideas? Does anyone use ACT with 2X?

    Thanks.
    Paul.

what do you mean by ACT?
URL redirection will open your local mail client if another application tries to open a link mailto:xxxxx.

    what exactly are you after?

ACT is our contact management system. It's where we store all our client (potential client) information. Within it we store e-mail addresses and use it to send e-mails (and mail merges). It is intergrated with outlook, so when you click an e-mail address in ACT, it will allow you to send an e-mail. I was hoping to use our local outlook instead of having to set up outlook as a remote app (which I am attempting to do now).
