Hi, I had a question on using Parallels Image Tool to revert my VM back to the old format so I can use 3.0 instead of 4.0. I uninstalled parallel tools just like it suggested however when it comes time to insert my windows xp cd, my xp cd is only with service pack 2 however I had downloaded service pack 3 before I switched to the new format. It asks me if I would like to proceed since it can't find the necessary install files on my xp pro service pack 2 installation cd. Any work arounds on this or which folder on my xp service pack 2 install cd I can point parallels image tool towards so I can go ahead with the conversion back to the old format?
Hello, as I understand, you had a virtual machine in Parallels Desktop 4 with Windows already installed and want it to be usable in Parallels Desktop 3. In this case, you do not need to use Parallels Image Tool, you should locate the .pvm bundle of your Parallels Desktop 4 virtual machine, right-click on it, select "Show Package Contents", right click on the enclosed .hdd file, click on "Show Package contents" and drag the enclosed .hds file to any location you would want it ot be located. Change its extension to .hdd, and then create a new virtual machine based on this virtual disk.
