    Hi,

I have a MBP with Parallels running Win10.
However, Parallels does not allow me to use the [GP]GPU directly from Windows (as discussed elsewhere).

    My questions are as follows:
    1. If I install Windows using Bootcamp, will I be able to use the GPU unhindered by virtualization issues when booting into Windows?
    2. From the docs it seems that Parallels can use this bootcamp partition for running within OSX.
As long as I am not using the GPU, will I be able to work with this parallels guest as usual when booted into OSX?
    Thanks!
    Adi

    Hello AdiShavit,
Guest OSes in Parallels Desktop have no access to physical graphics cards present in a Mac. Instead, Parallels Display Adapter driver (which is part of Parallels Tools installation) interfaces with virtual hardware and provides 3D acceleration features. The actual acceleration is achieved by translating DirectX commands from the guest to OpenGL API on OS X side, please refer to http://kb.parallels.com/122807 to learn how Parallels Desktop Work with Mac Video Cards.
