I'm considering getting a Mac Pro + Parallels for running some essential only-available-on-Windows apps that I need to run for my work. One major problem is that there seems to be no ISDN telephony and fax solution available for the Mac. Using the Mac modem for phone and fax is not an option because it only gives you one line and one number and does not support any advanced ISDN telephony and fax features.

Is it possible to access Windows PCI cards installed in one of the Mac Pro's PCI slots from Parallels? Then it would be possible to use a PCI ISDN card that would only be accessed from within Windows. If that doesn't work I suppose it would be possible to use an external USB ISDN solution like the FritzCard USB and install the software in Windows under Parallels... Actually, I suppose that's probably the best solution, because then that wouldn't interfere with the Mac side of things...

I would be very surprised (shocked?) if an XP VM could access the PCI bus directly. Given that USB support is still spotty, I'd say the chance of PCI work are between slim and none.

I'd be curious if anyone has tried.

I suspected as much. Sounds like USB is the only solution...
