I think I will have to add two questions to the forum about my experience with my UG to PD9 from PD8. Scenario: Was running with an iMAC27 (late 2009), OS 10.8.5 with PD8. The PD VM was running Win 7 to a secondary HDMI connected monitor and I could use this PERFECTLY. Main things I liked were: 1. The Win 7 environment was **full** screen in the secondary monitor and I was able, from time to time, to drag MAC windows/panes onto that screen area if I needed a bit more MAC space 2. The content could be copied and pasted flawlessly between both OS systems, dragged/dropped as well 3. I could copy screen grabs (MAC Cmd/Shft/4 to start the Mac grab and then Ctlr while I dragged and grabbed my selection) from Mac into any Win app with perfect results I was happy. I then purchased a second new iMAC27 and it came with Mavericks (10.9.2). I backed up the source IMAC Parallels file as recommended by Parallels when migrating to a new system and copied it to the new IMAC. Installed Parallels 8. All working. Happy! Everything in my 1-2-3 list looked green for go. All bar (3) that was... I found when I performed a screen grab (as in 3), when I pasted it into the PD8 Win7 space (into Word 2010/PowerPoint etc), I got either a Black box in the shape and size of the grab or the content of the grab was distorted, like a horrid zig-zag corruption - text illegible, images broken. I checked it wasn't a MAC thing by grabbing and pasting into Pages - all perfect, but pasting the same into Word - black box. Nasty. So, I thought, maybe this is a Parallels thing, yeah? So I shelled out £30+ for the PD9 upgrade. It went ok but oh holy moley, its so bad now that the copy/paste thing is a minor yet irritating gremlin in comparison to the problems I have now! 1. With Parallels in Coherence Mode it seems ok BUT then.... a) I get an annoying Parallels menu thing at the top of the *second* monitor menu. Its there all the time. Hate it. Can't I get it to be on the Mac Monitor as it was on PD8? b) I lose the Windows taskbar altogether!! Der - What's that all about? b) When the Win screen has focus, if I move the mouse to the bottom of the Win screen (hover, not click or drag) the darned MAC Dock moves from the Mac Monitor to the Secondary monitor and then auto-hides (only way to get it back where it needs to be (on Mac monitor) is to go to Mac System Preferences and set Dock to RIGHT/or/Left and then to BOTTOM for it to then return to the land of MAC). But It will happily go back to the Win monitor if I inadvertently hover too low in the Win screen! Grrrrrr! c) The beauty I had in (3) above [screen grab pasting into Windows) still shows me hideous black boxes!! Anyone with any experience in these matters? Can you help? if screenshots are needed, I may be able to help. Balding Chris ========
