v9.1061 Universal Printer not installed/working

    Hello, this is the first time using the forum so bear with me. I did a search and didn't necessarily come back with a direct hit, so I am posting a new thread. Long story short, upgrading from v8 to v9 has been a nightmare. Besides a constant crashing of the 2xcontroller.exe file (literally 10-20 times a day which we then have to end that process manually in Task Manager), we no longer have the ability to print to a local printer via the 2X Universal Printer. It is almost like it isn't even installed or there anymore on the server. It is enabled in the console, but it no longer looks to be an installed printer in Windows nor is there a 2X port under any printer property page.

    Something that potentially hosed this for us, was 2X support recommended that we roll-back to v8 to deal with the 2xcontroller.exe crash issue so we tried that and things got worse (tons of errors and rollback was unsuccessful). So, we have re-upgraded back to v9, which is where we currently reside. We are using the Application Server and Client files of 2X on a terminal services server running Win2003 R2 32-bit. Most of our clients are now running v9.0151-0161. Does anyone have any insight on what the issue could be in regards to Universal Printing!!?? We have remote users that our Transcriptionists and Therapists that have to be able to print to a local printer as network printers do them no good!! Thanks for any help offered!! --Kirk

    Make sure you are running 2x Windows Server v9.0.1061 or higher as in v9.0.1061 an new improvement for windows 2003 was introduced.

    Our current version on the server is 9.0.1061. See the screenshot below. Any other ideas?

    So....other than update to the latest build which we already did...there is absolutely NO help on this topic at all? I can't believe we are the only ones battling this. I highly doubt this is the case. My supervisor hasn't received any useful help from 2X support either...seems to be a them here 2X. I guess we are SOL. :twisted:

    Our version is listed in the previous post above. We have seemingly resolved the intermittent crashing (on our own no thanks to anyone @ 2X) but still battle the lack of the 2X Univeral Printer being active. This support forum and 2X official support is terrible. Why would you ask me what version we are on when it is in the post? Don't you think we actually know how to check the Windows logs too? That offers nothing in regards to why your program crashes and doesn't work.

    We got an actual support email from you all this morning too stating to check the release notes for the new version hoping it resolves the Univeral Printer issue. I mean, this is not even support....this is a total run around....AWFUL. Sorry for going off, I am sure you are trying to help, but this is terrible as this has gone on for almost a month now. This is the kind of thing that makes us want to go to Citrix.
