I updated to 20.1.1 (55740) of parallels for macOS and now have started to get the following error in the parallels log file (turn on detailed logging). I am seeing this on two separate systems, one with an M1 PRO and one with M2 Ultra. It was working without issue before the update to 20.1.1 it looks like 19.4.1 (54985) was working fine based on historical information I am seeing the parallels log.

    Code:
/LocalDevices:8827:1a5c9/ Metal validation error of type 0 at -[MTLTextureDescriptorInternal validateWithDevice:]:1357: Texture Descriptor Validation
Texture swizzling is not compatable with MTLTextureUsageShaderWrite
In the easiest to trigger situation I am attempting to start a session in a game called Sea Power. I haven't found a way to avoid this issue after playing with a number of settings.

I meant to state that both systems are running macOS 14.6.1 (23G93) and had that exact same OS version when things worked (aka before the parallels update).

Also it remains stuck trying to suspend Windows 11, I have to force quit all aspects of Parallels and Windows vm it is running to recover.

I downgraded to 19.4.1 using the following instructions and so far things are working again, at least on my M1 machine. I will have to try on my M2 machine tomorrow to see if the issue if fixed or not on that system (assume it will be).

I can report that I have exactly the same problem with a M3 MAX in 20.1.1 with Sea Power

I just tested again with Parallels 20.1.3 (55743), and the same crash still occurs. With version 19.4.1 works fine, though...
