I can't get X to display the native 1280x800 screen resolution in a new install of FreeBSD 6.2 in a Parallels VM. Whatever I try with xorg.conf, only the default 1024x768 resolution shows (also in full screen), which means that part of the window is located off-screen.

I even copied the xorg.conf from another VM running Linux, where the 1280x800 screen resolution does work -- this VM converted from the previous version of Parallels Desktop -- but still no dice. Xorg.log.0 shows that the various 1280x800 modes are correctly identified and starred to indicate that they fit within the capabilities, but VESA then says: Not using mode "1280x800" (no mode of this name).

One thought: Desktop 3.0 has as new feature that screen resolution follows window size... could this interfere?
