I don't know why, but since a few days many of my file type based application launches are extremely slow. In Parallels WindowsXP, I click on a .wav file for example and it hangs for maybe 45 seconds until finally opening the appropriate application in OSX. This happens with all file types I believe, at least video files, pdf etc. What might cause this huge delay? During the hang the computer is also quite unresponsive (hourglass or beach ball).
