Virtual Machine conversion not working V6

Hi,
I'm trying to update a v3 virtual machine to v6 but nothing is happening. All I get once I go through the installation process is the normal home screen but when i try to shut down a window says "Cannot close the virtual machine window. The Virtual machine is being converted to the new format. Wait until the operation is complete and try again."

It's been running for 24 hours.


I'm running SL 6.7, MacPro, 4GB Ram.
