O/S: Snow Leopard VM O/S: Windows XP SP3 I have set up my mac with 3 partitions according to the instructions here (this is so that I can read/write from the same NTFS data partition regardless of which O/S I am using). http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=88729 I followed those instructions successfully and found they worked very well. However, when I try to create a virtual machine based on the Boot Camp partition, it seems like it is going to work and creates the VM fine, then asks me to start the VM. When I do, it begins the normal Steps 1 through 4 process for completing the set up of the VM. However, it never gets past step 1 before it says something like, "You need to manually finish configuring the virtual machine." It then shows me the VM and Windows appears to be partially booted with a Windows Activation dialog showing. I understand the need and how to activate Windows, and that's not a problem. The problem is that when I click into the VM to begin using the mouse/keyboard to activate, the whole VM is frozen up--the key commands don't work, the mouse won't move and it appears completely frozen. Things I've ALREADY tried with no results: - removing the VM several times and repeating the steps and get exactly the same result--it freezes every time it gets to that point - restarting Mac OS and creating a new VM - restarting the computer and booting directly into Win XP in Boot Camp natively to make sure it still boots properly (it does), then restarting Mac OS and creating new VM - Once it freezes, using the little keyboard icon in the Parallels Desktop window interface to send a Ctrl-Alt-Delete to the VM - Forcing a shut down through the Parallels interface and restarting the machine (when I do this it starts the steps 1-4 again and then eventually freezes in exactly the same spot - Searched through lots of other forum posts to find someone with a similar problem and have not yet...if there is a post on this, please point me in the right direction Any help would be appreciated.
