    Hi
My mac crashed earlier today and my Windows 10 virtual machine can no longer access the internet. It was fine before the crash. I ran Windows Network Adaptor diagnostics and it said ""Ethernet" doesn't have a valid IP configuration". This is the full report:
    Windows Network Diagnostics

"Ethernet" doesn't have a valid IP configuration
    Not fixed

Investigate router or broadband modem issues
    Failed

    Reset the "Ethernet" adapter

I'm afraid all this means nothing to me so I've no idea if it's any use or not!
I saw a post somewhere saying to change from Shared Network to Bridged Network Default Adaptor but get a message saying "The Default Adaptor network adaptor is not connected to the network".
As I said, I haven't got a clue so any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you... Willa

    Hi

I just realised I didn't have the latest version of Parallels so I've updated it. Now when I start the virtual machine I get an error saying
"Network initialization failed. Your virtual machine will continue working normally but will have no network connection."
I found a YouTube video saying starting Parallels from Terminal fixes the problem so I tried it. A window popped up telling me to install Windows 10?!) which of course I didn't want to do so I quit out of it.
I then started the virtual machine again. Shared Network (recommended) wasn't selected but when I did select it the internet connection started working again.
So I've no idea what resolved the problem but it's working again now .
