Hi, on my Macbook Pro 15" Late 2013 i have installed a Virtual machine with Windows 10.
everything works fine but my local SSD runs out of space. so i bought an external SSD (Intense 500GB) which reaches with Black magic Disk speed Test read/write Speeds at about 300 MB/s.
but when i move/copy my virtual machine to the external drive my Windows is extremely slow - it is not useable. it takes minutes to boot and minutes to recognize that i wanted to type the password.

I have tried this after upgrading to Parallels 12. as written above on the local disk it works fine, speedy, smooth as it should.
but when moving it is unusable.
does anyone have the same issue or ist there a special setting to run it? thank you

    Hi AndreasR2,
Hi Keith, please refer to this article to know how to run a virtual machine from external hard disk.
Performance of such virtual machines depends on external storage characteristics (such as data throughput, etc.)
Please review the type of drives that will show the best performance (in decreasing order) :
    Flash Drive on Thunderbolt
    Flash Drive on USB 3.0
    Flash Drive on USB 2.0
    Rotational Drive on Thunderbolt
    Rotational Drive on USB 3.0
    Rotational Drive on USB 2.0
To proceed, transfer an existing virtual machine to appropriate location on the external volume.
NOTE: Virtual machine should be turned off.
