Hi, After spending several hours searching this forum, applying all useful suggestions and still unable to get my VM running, I have decided to ask. Usually, I find the answer I am looking for by using search hence never post anything. Earlier today SWMBO (she who must be obeyed!) reported that Parallels is showing a beach ball. I thought a simple reboot of MacBook Pro (4.1, early 2008, 4GB RAM, 200GB HD, dedicated 35GB for VM, XP Professional) would suffice. But that did not work out. It gave a "Hard disk not found" error (similar to Bootcamp issues, but not same - since this is not a bootcamp partition). So, after some search, I narrowed it to KB4680 and followed the suggestion given there. The VM starts alright, but stalls at stage 1 of upgrade/conversion. Assuming that the VM is corrupted, I pulled my last good backup (6 months old) and tried to use it directly at first (it should start up right? - since I had copied the 'Parallels' folder itself?) No. It did not work as intended. So, I again followed the KB4680. Again it stalls at stage 1 of 4 (during the upgrade/conversion). The renamed hdd file mounts (using Parallels mounter), and I can browse it too. So, I am assuming the VM is not corrupted and I should be able to boot it. I am using Ver 6. In case someone from Parallels is reading this: The report ID is : 7398995 Any help is gratefully accepted. Thank you! Regards, Gopal
OK... I got it sorted out. I used Image Tools to merge snapshots and 'flatten' the disk. It restarted next time easy enough. Regards, Gopal
