This is so ridiculous, but all of sudden my virtual machine is asking for a password. I have tried everything I normally use and have used in the past and it isn't working. I have tried following steps to reset the password in Terminal but I get this message "Virtual machine 'Windows 7' is encrypted - password required to continue operation". I am really screwed if I can't get around this.

Is there anything I can do to break the encryption or recovery/reset my password?? If not, is there a way to migrate my files out of this machine? I have a back up on a disk of my Mac but even that file will not open. I get this "Unable to add the virtual machine because some of its files are read-only or the specified path does not exist. Make sure that the path is valid and you have the write permission for the virtual machine files and folder and try again."

Please Please please help, you are truly my only hope. Huge freaking coding project in VB for school due soon and I can't get to it or work on it. So mad at myself right now.

Side note, I have been using this machine since August and it has not asked for a password. I don't remember encrypting it; I would have no reason to.

    Hi Luke3,
If you are using Parallels Desktop for Mac Pro Edition, please follow the steps in this article to resolve it. If it is a Standard version of Parallels Desktop for Mac, try this solution.
