Virtual machine with Windows XP Bootcamp does not configure

Hello All,
I have Windows XP installed on a Mac Pro desktop on hard disk #2 and Snow Leopard on disk #1. Bootcamp is installed on both disks. I'd like to be able to boot into XP from the Mac. Parallels 5 starts configuring the virtual bootcamp machine with XP, it gets stuck about 1/4 way through the progress bar. I let it run for over 10 hrs and the hard drives seem to be working but no progress is made. I'd appreciate any suggestion!
