I have installed parallels desktop. Is it protected running inside a Mac or does it need its own separate windows/internet explorer virus security?

Windows running in Parallels is no safer from viruses than Windows running on any real PC. You will need to install anti-virus software. Fortunately this is easy; just select "Install Kaspersky Internet Security..." from the "Actions" menu while Windows is running in Parallels.

brkirch many thanks for the prompt response. I suspected the same but didn't know for sure. Didn't know the solution was so simple
