    Hi,

I've noticed some complaints about Vista with 5144 beeing slower than XP. That made me wonder since vista (ultimate) always runs considerably slower than XP on my machine setup. So does Vista usually run as fast as XP or even faster? If so how can I speed up Vista?

I'm running a Core2Duo 2,33 GHz MacBook Pro with 2GB RAM given 1GB RAM to Vista.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Peronal experience from dual boot Vista/XP

My son got new (powerful) PC notebook with Vista. I made it dual boot with XPSp2.

Rarely use Vista, but from those few occasions I did, same powerful hardware, 2Gb RAM notebook with 256Mb dedicated RAM graphics Vista is _very_ very slow and not responsive...

May be on 8 processor/8Gb machine it would be usable?
