Uh oh. I just noticed that in my Vista.hdd that when I first when to use windows media player, it said something about using/setting up/upgrading - not sure - to version 11. i just clicked thru and all went well until i tried to play an avi. The player comes up, and in the lower left says "acquiring codec" and then begins to play the track with audio only. just a black screen for video. not even a flicker.

Now I have this same file imbedded in a powerpoint presentation also in that image, and the slide plays fine, so I am totally confused.

Clue? at the same time, I just started getting Parrallels tool crashs in Vista. I just click thru that and all seems well. May or may not be related?

I am getting really nervous now. I am teaching some PC classes next week and I want to use this MacbookPro with the Vista image up and running. So far this is the only bug encountered, but a serious one for me. thanks ahead for any troubleshooting!

    1. Minimize hardware acceleration level in display properties.

Right click on Desktop -> Personalize -> Display Settings -> Advanced
Settings -> Trobleshoot tab. Put hardware acceleration level to zero.

    2. Set Color in Display Settings to 24 bit making hardware acceleration
    set to maximum.
