I finally got parallels configured, but when I run Parallels, I get an odd visual problem. The text in the window is overlayed with other text making it near impossible to read. THe buttons work fine, but the UI is corrupted somehow.

To be clear - it is the contents of the window. The chrome around it looks ok.

    Xgl/aiglx?

Would you by any chance be running Beryl on XGL or AIGLX?

Altenatively go to Beryl Settings Manager - Window Management, find "Set window attribs by various criteria" on left side, enable it and scroll down to "Disable ARGB visual", hit the "+" icon then grab the parallels window..

    good luck
