I plug in a USB hard drive, flash drive, whatever.

It prompts me with Mac or PC? (Mac has already mounted it.)
    I choose PC.
VM asks if I want to disconnect it from the Mac.
It doesn't matter what I choose. It will never show up in Windows, ever.

I have removed all the USB controllers in Windows, and on the VM configuration, rebooted multiple times, and Windows can never install the usb controllers properly. In device manager they always have the yellow exclamation point over the question mark. When trying to install it I get a message telling me Windows can't find the driver, and will not try to install it again.

I have 4 Macs, all running Parallels with XP and I cannot successfully mount a USB device. I have tried multiple times in the past to get support from Parallels and I get none. Search these forums for my posts. Some have no replies even after years. Yet, Parallels wants me to upgrade every year? Forget it.
