VM internet connection fails/disconnects intermittently - shared or bridged

Morning - I am currently still testing this but the issue I seem to have at the moment is that when my Macbook sleeps (which it is set not to do but that is a different issue)* then VM Win 11 doesn't have internet access. It is set to 'shared' and only by reclicking the Devices/Network/Shared from the dropdown reconnects it. It is still selected, but not functioning until I re-click it. No matter how long I wait, I have to manually re-click the Network device again for it to reconnect. It did the same on 'bridged'.

Any ideas?


*I have set all the 'do not sleep' stuff and the Macbook never used to sleep on power adaptor but it suggests it is going into 'Maintenance sleep' even if plugged in and the clamshell is open. This is new behaviour very recently so any ideas on how to get intended behaviour back would be appreciated. The only stuff I can find on it is people that want to also disable sleep on clamshell, which I want to keep.

 

Ok so I just caught the Macbook before it went to sleep and the network had disconnected on the VM side again anyway - when something went idle maybe?

 

I had the same issues, just installed the free app Amphetamine from the Appstore and activated there the first three settings for the default session, to remain active.
