Parallels 4.0.3810 New MacBook Pro 15" User installed Parallels/Windows XP and everything was working fine. However, when she started the VM this morning, all the buttons on the toolbar except for Configure are grayed out. On the Virtual Machine menu of Parallels, all the buttons are grayed out except Stop and Configure. User restarted several times but situation hasn't changed. I've never seen this on my MacBook running the same version of Parallels. Can anyone provide any help? Thanks.
This indicates that the virtual machine has not been shut down and simply closed instead. So, the virtual machine went into suspended mode. It would stay suspended even after Mac reboot. The easy solution here is to stop the virtual machine. Another way, especially if stopping along does not help, is to check the following: 1. Shut down Parallels. 2. Navigate to /Users/<username>/Documents/Parallels 3. Right-click (Control-click) on a .pvm file inside and choose "Show package content" option. 4. Inside the .pvm bundle, check if there is any .sav or .mem files. You can move these to trash and try launching Parallels again.
