    Hello all,

I use VPN to connect to the office along with Microsoft's RDP for Mac. This worked perfectly until I installed Parallels Desktop 4.0. Now, every time I have to use VPN on my Mac host (without even opening Parallels), I have to delete the 2 Parallels Networking adapters connections that automatically appeared on my Network preferences since I installed Parallels, delete the VPN connection and re-create it. It is the only way that it would go through, and it is a pain. Whenever I boot my Mac, I have to do the same to be able to connect to VPN. Does anyone know what to do to get this resolved? I appreciate the help.

You may need to reload your VPN client especially if you use Cisco. Also you can open system preferences and simply disable the Parallels adapters while connecting. Some VPN clients do not allow multiple network connections and see the Parallels adapters as active connections. Make sure you are up to date with your version of Parallels and that the VM is inactive when you VPN in.

If you do all the above you will get in and not have to delete the adapters just disable and enable them.

PARCC, thanks a lot. I followed your advice and it worked. I'm new to Mac and could not initially figure out how to disable the Parallels connections. For those who are new too, I selected the Parallels adapters under "Network", clicked on the Configure drop down, and set them to "Off". That allowed the VPN connection to go through without having to delete it and recreate it. Thanks again!
