Hi, I have a mac (OS x Lion 10.7.5) + Parallels 7 build 15107, running a Win XP guest. In the recent past, the following was working smoothly and always: - I used to access my Cisco IPSec VPN using the native VPN Client on the Mac. - Then I opened Internet Explorer (IE 7, Windows) - Then I was able to use this web application at the other end of the VPN (the app requires IE7 to work so I have to do all this, no other options with my Mac) Currently, the above does not work anymore, because very frequently IE7 looses the connection at the other end of the VPN and the web application cuts me out. Pls note that the native VPN Connection on the Mac is ALWAYS up and running, no problems with that. Pls note that before the latest updates (I don't know which one exactly, there have been many both for the Mac OS and the Parallels software) everything was ABSOLUTELY fine. Pls note that if I login to the Web Application usng safari or firefox ON THE MAC, the VPN connection never brakes up. It's just that I'm not able to use the Web Application properly, so staying on the first screen is not useful. What has happened? Anybody experienced this and has a solution/workaround? Are there any log files I can check to get what's going on? Thanks a lot for any help.
Switching the VM to "bridged network" (on the Default Adapter) doesn't help as if I do it then I'm not able to reach the specified URL (it's an https plain IP address, no name resolution involved). If I switch to "bridged network --> default adapter": - I can ping the IP from the mac - cannot ping the IP from the VM (of course if I do not switch to bridged network it works for a while, as I said previously, but then it breaks). Also the other options/NICs under "bridged Network" do not work...
Can anybody please tell me if the following would work: - Save the current VM image file - Remove Parallels and reinstall the old version from the original DVD - Re-run the previously saved VM image file I'm not sure if the image file has been changed somehow, along with installing the Parallels software updates in the past. If the above is supposed to be a correct procedure: I'd be glad to know if it would be possible afterwards to upgrade Parallels up to a certain version, but not the latest one. Thanks
