Hi Do I have to do anything special to allow a vpn connection to xp via the Mac please? We can login remotely with no problems but cannot actually connect to the mac or xp. Thanks Rich
You need to have VPN server software on Mac, on Windows XP you need to allow incoming connection http://www.zdnetasia.com/insight/network/0,39044847,39050037-39000223c-1,00.htm
Hi John Probably didn't phrase the question to well. I have revisited another thread, however, I will ask the question here as well. I cannot access any folders within xp. I have bridged networking enabled. I am trying to access the folders from the network not through the Mac Pro. Thanks Rich
Trying to access by ip. We can get in no problems but when we view folders all we can see are the windows shared folders. We cannot actually share any folders at all. Thanks
If I guess, you want to access Mac Shared folders when you access your Windows XP remotely If it is , you cannot
No I don't want to access my os x I want to simply access my windows folders! Both on the internal and external network. thanks.
I am only trying to access my windows folders through the internal network and external through the vpn but I cannot share the folders by right clicking and so cannot access the folders at all. Thanks
please try to switch Windows XP in Bridged Ethernet networking mode, if this is not the case, please clarify where are you trying to share Windows folders, from Explorer?
The best thing to do then is to totally forget all behind this post. If you take a bog standard ordinary windows xp box and want to share a folder as mydanes has said, "You right click the folder and up comes a dialogue box that asks whether you want to share that folder?" That dialogue box doesn't appear for me. There is no option to share any folders I have in the xp installation. Rich
Yes I am but I won't be able to get to the computer until tomorrow now. I am using parallels 4 on my home laptop so I might try installing xp on this tonight and see what happens. Any steps I can take tomorrow please? Thanks
