    Hi everyone,

I want to run a web server in Ubuntu, and test it on the Mac.

Has anyone done this? any tips?

I want to treat this as if it were a remote machine, so... I'll be FTPing in, sshing in... viewing it over a web browser in Mac OS X. That sort of thing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

    Thanks

    Hi,
It is necessary to install tools since it will provide faster (about 10-15x) networking

Also, the current linux tools PD40 tools has some problem and although tools are installed, the old ne2k-pci module is used. This should be fixed by hands. I am not a linux-guy, but seems that this instruction works (originally was created for http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=87789 )

There should be no issues beside this one.

And it is also required to use Bridged Networking or (if shared is used) setup Port Forwarding rules in the menu "Parallels Desktop"->Preferences->Networking
