I am currently using an app that was developed in .NET 4.0

The developers seem to have used some kind of alpha channel for design purposes. However, this messes up Coherence, since many areas of the app are click-through to the Mac desktop.

I have included a screenshot where I set the Mac desktop color to bright green to make the click-through areas more visible.

Does anyone know of a fix (other than "don't use Coherence for this app")? I am currently deciding between buying Parallels, VMWare Fusion and going with VirtualBox, and if this problem is resolved I'll go with Parallels (best performance, best integration with host system, lowest memory footprint).

    Thanks,
    Stefan

What is the app? Why would it have "holes" through it? I've never heard of such a thing. You could put another window behind it to prevent switching back to OS X.

A better thing would be to contact the developer(s). Even on a real PC, I'm sure it would be extremely annoying to click through to the desktop while you are using the app. This must be a bug of some kind. And I would imagine that any virtualization program would exhibit the same issue.

The app is a game client. The screenshot is part of the login screen, and the problem persists after login. For example, since the title bar is transparent you can't move the app - there is no draggable area in the window.

The transparency happens only in Parallels, when Coherence mode is enabled.

It does not happen in either VirtualBox or VMWare Fusion Coherence modes (whatever they are called).

This is why I think it is a Parallels bug.

Putting a window below the app is not an option - clicking through would mean switching to that window.

This still makes no sense. Why would this app, that looks like it uses standard Windows windows, have a different behavior from every other application? Try uninstalling and reinstalling the application.

And you still haven't mentioned what the application is so others can try to replicate.
