Summary: I click on a link in Firefox 3.6.x in OS X 10.6.x and I zoom to WinXP in Parallels and an app is opened there. How was a connection made between Firefox on OS X and an app in WinXP??? The site is emusic and the software is emusic download manager. There is also a plugin for Firefox that is also installed. Anyone have any ideas? I tried to run in one of the strange windowed modes of Parallels last week and ever since I'm seeing the Windows apps lined up on my OS X Dock when I'm running Parallels full screen. I don't recall seeing this behaviour before. Who knows if these are connected. I'm just now going to try and install a freshly downloaded parallels 5 (latest). Any ideas?
Hi Ken, Are you in "Coherence" mode? Look under View with Parallels VM selected and check which items are checked. If you are using Coherence that is why you are experiencing this behavior. (This means your parallels VM is still running) This may also be the case for Modality. The other question is are you currently in spaces on max OSx side. kat
Thanks, Kat. Yeah, I was in Coherence (or Modality?) without training wheels and this seems to be what what causing the problem. Although I can't figure out why, when the target app was running separately in both OS X and Win XP, the OS X executable (browser, OS X, whatever?) chose to go to the Win XP app rather than OS X. Anyway, I've reinstalled Parallels after giving my system an enema and now have the latest 5 version of Parallels and I am seeing behaviour that I expect to see.
