I have a macbook pro with the newest OS and Parallels for mac 6

I used to be able to run windows 7 in parallels with no problems. After some problems with my hard disk i had to repair the hard disk and restore from a copy of the disk. The problems where there before i formatted and repaired the disk. I have an image of the problem.
    Things I tried:

repair the windows installation, both startup and memory control detected nothing
upgraded parallels from 5 to 6
screen calibration, apparently not possible for my macbookpro

I'm actually having the same problem. The only way I can get ride of it is to uninstall parallel tools from Windows 7. I lose the ability to have coherence mode but I can live with that until I figure it out.

Anyone have an idea on how to solve this?

The screen problem is solved as soon as I deinstall parallels tools and returns after I reinstall it. But I find it really strange that this happens all of a sudden, is this some kind of glitch?

That is the exact same problem I am having, accept I lose coherence mode when I uninstall the tools. I have been in contact with their support team and they are trying to solve the problem for me. If/when I get a solution I will post it up here so that if others have the same problem this may solve the solution.

Had the same issue. Fixed it by updating parallels. After update, a new version of parallels tools was available for install.

Here are the steps I took to solve the issue. Btw, I first got the weird colors when I updated my graphics card drivers. However, everything was fine when I booted from bootcamp, but looked weird when I loaded the Windows 7 image in parallels.

    1. Fire up parallels
    2. In the menubar go to: Parallels Desktop > Check for Updates...
    3. Download and apply update
    4. Fire up the image.
    5. Parallels detects that there are now updates parallels tools drivers available. It will automatically bring up an update window.
    6. Update parallels tools.

Hope this helps. If not, try downgrading your graphics card drivers.

I tried rolling back the driver on my video card in windows and it solved the problem as well. I can now use parallels, however I am still without coherence mode which is a nuisance but at least I can continue to do work for now.

Anybody now how to get coherence mode back up and running? Tried reinstalling, and all the usual tricks. Asking for support from the support group for parallels I might as well be pulling someones teeth out, they are not very helpful I ended up solving the problem myself. Sorry bit of a rant there.

Anyways if someone knows how to bring up coherence mode with a windows 7 when it was working before but now isn't let me know please.

    Thanks

    Steve
