I like the logic of Parallels. In order to make PD faster, it "requires" more memory, so i could probably over see the fact they previously stuck a warning if windows xp was running below 1 gig.... eg.. i still doub't this as cache has always been a part of reading/writing,,, you only giving more memory to the VM (and loosing that from the Host) ......strange the dialog is now only appearing in 5.0 ...anyway.. Second.. Parallels stikes back.. this time with the latest build... not removing Stardock (Mac style will never out beat a true Mac..,, plus making something, its not, looks ugly, and impacts system performance.. Windows users have had third party "add-ons" themes for ages.. so its no surprise PD left this one in..Its supposed to be an add-on, not a part of.. To "improve" PD performance. Parallels has now turned off Aero in Vista/Windows7, while previous build, with the SAME amount of video memory, ran Aero smoothly, (ya a bit slow) but it would be the same for standard windows pc... With visual, comes performance hit, so it makes sense... Can Parallels stop trying to ""work around" by either turning stuff of/disabling stuff that previously worked with the same hardware, or try and find a another way without affecting users. As Parallels can be sure.. they'll be one of the first to hear from me...Parallels is good product. but there its now like a kettle of fish,, (They market something that will be appealing to all, they bait the suspects, and reel them in) I guess you can't please all... But the last build, in all honesty, was the best... What happened? I'll be watching.
Hm. Are you saying that the latest build turned off Aero? That happened to my right after I updated and before I installed the updated parallels tools. "Reinstall" the (updated) tools and Aero will come back (they updated the graphics card driver apparently). Actually, Aero now runs much better (=smoother) than before.
aero yep.. nevermind ... but this was a fresh install... I just closed down PD and restarted, all fine ... didn't need to reinstall PT.
