Hello, I just moved from a PC to a Mac (it´s a MacBook running Leopard). And I moved my virtualization from VirtualPC to Parallels Desktop 3.0. I am currently running a trial with a virtual Windows XP installation which runs quite smooth. Anyway I would like to know where the Undo-Disk is stored while the VM is running (Undo-Disks are set to discard at shutdown). I could not find any (significant) files in the file system that are changed while the VM is running. And the memory usage of the VM process also does not change while the VM is running. But where is the "temporary usage" of the disk stored until shutdown? I also would like to know why the VM disk file is updated after VM shutdown (with discarding Undo-Disks). Any idea? Thanks for support. br, Gregor.
Hello Gregor, When your VM is running, all the information is written in .hds file that's deleted on Shut Down if Undo Disks option is set to Discard Changes or saved if the option is set to Apply Changes. The file is stored in your VM folder and you can see it on Mac side. Are you sure that Discard Changes is enabled on the Advanced tab of Options in Configuration Editor? Best regards, Xenos
