When I start Parallels I get a message that the new 4.0 is around $44 (can't remember the exact amount) but when I go to the website the shopping cart shows that it will cost around $70. I've sent a message to the website contact but got no answer. Does anyone know why there is a discrepancy between the advertised price and the actual price?
Then why does http://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/?ClickID=d2rrtyszxskmyrykxtymzmt2rh2bzrhssxhh state that the upgrade price is $49.99??and when I click on that button the price on the cart is 68.76 CAD?
I got an offline reply that indicated that the price of $49.99 was correct but it did not address in anyway my question about why I cannot get that price when I attempt to buy it.
It is US dollar price not Canadian But when you click upgrade it calculates according to your location In your case in CAD
I do not think that the conversion is correct ... it is about $5 more than the exchange rate would justify.
Probably to clarify this question, you can create ticket to sales team? http://www.parallels.com/support/desktop/request/
I was about to upgrade for $39.99 as per Parallels' promise until end December (see attached screen shot, taken 2 weeks ago). Yet the $39.99 price now appears to have vanished, and it's now $49.99. What's going on, Parallels? http://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/

Thanks John. I have created a ticket addressed to the sales team as you suggested. I eagerly await their response!
An update to this as promised. After several weeks of emailing Parallels support I still haven't received an answer as to why Parallels promised an upgrade price of $39.99 USD until end December 2008 then increased it to $49.99 USD at the start of December. Well, at least I tried.
