I'd appreciate some ideas/feedback from some of you experienced users on the best way to back up VM's using PD6?

Thanks, I have it excliuded from TM but do clone 3 times a week with SuperDuper, so I guess I'm in good shape. Only thing is if I just wanted to restore only my VM, I guess I'd have to back up with TM right?

    Cloning

I assume you mean to clone with a third party cloning software. I hope you know that these have problems with open files.
