    Hi,

Can any experienced user help with this question, please?

I'm willing to buy either of these Macs:

    OPTION 1/ Macbook Air: 13", 8GB, 256 SSD
-> CPU is: 1.8GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 (Turbo Boost up to 2.8GHz) with 3MB shared L3 cache
-> Upgradable to: (I didn't decide about this upgrade yet) dual-core 2.0GHz Intel Core i7 (Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz) with 4MB shared L3 cache.

OPTION 2/ Macbook Pro with Retina display: 13", 8GB, 128GB
-> CPU is: 2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor (Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz) with 3MB shared L3 cache

The question is which of these configurations is recommended better for Parallels Desktop? As you can see the 2 options have 8GB of RAM but it's the CPU that is different. Please help me understand the impact of selecting each of these options on Parallels performance and on the overall performance of the Mac! For the Macbook Air, is it recommended to spend $100 on the CPU upgrade fro i5/1.8GHz to i7/2.0GHz.
Note that I'm not willing to run any games or graphics consuming stuff. The biggest thing I would run on Windows is Oracle Express edition as it's not available for Mac.

Thanks very much for your help!!
