I know the difference and prefer Pro, but that's not the question. Searched and didn't see where had been discussed. Just installed Parallels 13 (Trial) and was very smooth, auto-installing Windows in the process. "About" shows as Windows Home. Need to activate Windows (in addition to Parallels) but if I buy a W10 Pro license will it auto upgrade, or should I just get the W10 Home license based on the default install?

No reply after a couple of days so took a risk and answered my own question. Activated Windows with a Professional activation code. No problem as it took. Wasn't as simple as simply activating previously downloaded "hidden" files from the initial "Home" version default incorporated in the Parallels install. Equally as transparent though as Windows upgraded to Professional without my having to be involved other than watching the "Do no turn off computer" message. Only concern was message stating would reboot in process. Never actually fully shut the Mac down - probably good news with Windows mandatory and unscheduled updates - as the shutdown appeared to be within Parallels and re-launching Windows. Parallels stayed active throughout so never had to re-launch it.

    Hi LawrenceG1,
You are right by default Windows 10 Home will get installed and if you use a Windows 10 Pro key your virtual machine will be upgraded. If you wish to install Windows 10 Pro using custom options we have to follow some additional steps.
