Why must I click Device>Usb> and select my printer for it to work?

I found out by disconnecting my printer and re connecting it, that if i do that while windows is running - it will see my usb printer and print beautifully for it. I further figured out that if I launch windows, then click devices>usb>HP 2015 and put a check next to it, it works like a charm.

I realize that parallels wants to be nice by setting up an 8300 conduit that is active when i launch windows. Yes that printer prints, but that printer driver sucks for my uses. Can someone tell me how to automate the process of forcing it to connect the printer which works perfectly when I manually select it?

Running newest version of parallels desktop and xp. I just wish there was a "automatically connect all usb devices" option. I realize that it can auto connect all devices that get plugged in while windows is running, but i want it to auto connect devices already plugged in.

keep in mind that my situation is this.

Turn on Mac osx. Launch parralels. Windows XP boots. Go to printers control panel screen. My printer driver that is setup to work perfectly (hp 2015 pcl 6) says "offline". I move my mouse cursor to the top of the screen, select devices, select usb, and check off "hp 2015". Poof the printer goes from offline status to online and everything is beautiful.
