Will Parallels 3.0 change my virtual disk?

I have a working Parallels Build 3094 and all is good. I have upgraded to Leopard 10.5.1 on one of my partitions and I would like to be able to run parallels from THAT partition. So, if I upgrade to 3.0 will it change my virtual disk (beyond installing a new version of parallels tools).

What I want to make sure of is that I can run parallels from my OLD Tiger partition using the SAME virtual disk... (the guest OS is Windows XP).

Thanks for any help (Yes I do have bootable backups, backups of my old virtual disk, etc.).

    yes of course
so clone your VM first and play with a clone

keeping your 2.* in a safe place - or two with a back up

So by "yes of course" you mean that parallels WILL change my virtual hard disk making it unreadable from version 2?

    Just want to make sure...

That's right, migrating to V. 3 makes the .hdd file unreadable by V. 2 and earlier.
