Is it just me, or when running Windows 10 in Coherence mode, the Parallels client process (prl_client_app), and not the VM itself (prl_vm_app) is massively leaking RAM? After a day, prl_client_app took over 28 GB of RAM. The OS was able to "compress" most of it, but then the next time I want to quit Parallels after the VM is shut down, it takes several minutes... Is there an option that I'm using in Coherence mode that is causing this?
I can confirm a leak rate of at least 200 MB per hour. Doing a "kill -9" on the prl_vm_app frees the memory, and when I start Parallels Desktop again it "reattaches" to the VM, but the desktop app is a bit confused and I can't make it re-enter Coherence again.
The 200 MB leak I measured is when the control center is closed, only the Windows 10 VM running in Confluence mode. There is no "dot" in the Dock to show that Parallels Desktop is active, but I still see it in the Activity Monitor. In my limited tests (I have work to do, and it's been a week only), this doesn't happen in Windowed mode.
Parallels Desktop 11 for Mac Hotfix 2 11.0.2 fixes memory leak in prl_client_app. Sorry for the trouble.
