I have successfully installed Windows 10 Technical preview in a virtual machine for initial testing. After a while of being pleasantly surprised with the preview, I decided to test it with bootcamp. A few things had to be worked through, but now it is running nicely in bootcamp.

The final step for my life to be perfect would be to achieve loading windows in both bootcamp AND parallels like I have with previous versions of windows.

Attempting to do so, however, has resulted in several head-shaped holes in my wall, and an unreasonable consumption of coffee and cashews as I sit for hours fighting the system.

This is not an issue limited to parallels either.... I have had no luck with vmware or virtualbox either, so this must be something with windows, but I can't for the life of me figure out what it is.

I wish I could say that I'm just a fool and have no idea what I'm doing, but this is not my first rodeo. I've been working with VMs for years, and I have done a good bit of development on both Windows and OSX, so I generally don't have these problems. I am completely baffled by this behavior, so I guess I will turn to some of you wizards to see if anyone has had any luck.

Obviously something is different with the Win10 bootloader, but does anyone know what it is? It is curious that Microsoft released both an installable iso and a SEPARATE VM image. This may point at the fact that they know they have changed something, but I still would like to be able to figure out what it is.

Has anyone else even TRIED to do what I'm doing? Have you found the secrets to the universe?

    Thanks guys!
