I didn't do anything special. Just went to the Insider Channel settings and followed the instructions. Then I could choose a channel. I was on the same Windows build as you. No idea why that isn't working for you.

Mine is telling me I have to "subscribe" and I click my current account and then get the error. I'm going to try a fresh install I guess.

Just checked and only the basic updates, not the cumulative one to 22H2. And my settings still show 21H2. And I have the same version numbers and recent two updates that you show.
But as I don't use videos like Mike does and have given up on the Xbox games (I play a few under Steam and Battlenet, one or two from the MS Store and finally got Links 2003 running "decently", so gave up on the Xbox games stuff) so see no rush to get to 22H2 at least for me.

The ability to reenroll in the Insider Preview channel must have just been down when I tried the other day. I booted today from work and got in fine (reregstered). I did, however, select the Dev channel when I probably should have done the Beta channel as now I'm stuck showing "Insider Preview Build" and "Evaluation Copy" again on my desktop, despite having had a licensed/registered Win 11 Pro version running before. Apparently, you can only drop out of "dev' channel every so often when there's a higher release number in the Beta Channel. Is this correct, @MichaelH63 ?

Here are the updated System Info numbers:

Edition Windows 11 Pro Insider Preview
    Version 22H2
    Installed on ‎10/‎3/‎2022
    OS build 25211.1010
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.25211.1010.0

    Most recent updates are:

    Feature update:

    Windows 11 Insider Preview 10.0.25211.1010 (rs_prerelease)

    Quality Updates:

2022-09 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows Version Next for ARM64 (KB5017257)
Update Stack Package - (Version 1022.921.2011.0)

Then, of course, all of the Microsoft store apps/widgets pretty much had to be updated/restored.

Thanks for the information. But as long as 21H2 runs fine for what I need (an old IBM Lotus Approach data base and a few games through Steam/Battlenet and the Windows Store) I will just stick with this till MS straightens out how they wish to handle retail.

That's basically correct. When Microsoft gets closer to the release of a major update, like the original Windows 11 or more recently 22H2, there's a window where the builds in the Dev and Beta Channel are identical. At that time it is possible to move to the Beta Channel where you can choose to leave the Insider Program once the Retail Channel gets the update. The only other option to leave the Dev Channel is a clean installation of Windows.

Do you think MS will ever make the 22H2 update available through the normal update in Windows? Would be nice if MS/Apple/Parallels would play nice and allow us all to just purchase a retail copy of Windows 11 and get all the updates like in the "old days" of the Intel chip sets (and under either Parallels or Bootcamp).

Well, Brad mentioned that he had the option to download the update, so I guess it will eventually appear for everyone. It seems to just be Microsoft's stupid phased rollout that's preventing us from getting the update at the moment.

Thanks for the info. Makes sense to hold off updates rather than for MS to have to deal with all the tech support calls.

Thanks for the info. I don't think the printer issue is the problem in my case (I don't think my printer uses either Microsoft IPP Class Driver or Universal Print Class Driver), but I'll check that when I get home.

They could have just slowed down the rollout too, as there have been other reported bugs. This release looks a little buggier than ones in the past if you believe social media...

I have an Epson XP 7100 working wirelessly through Parallels and when I clicked on Printer properties in Windows 11 and went to Printer Server Properties there was the Microsoft IPP Class Driver along with Parallels Shared Printer. So perhaps the printer is the "issue".

In your case it seems to be the issue (or at least one issue) and removing the printer should fix it. I only see the Parallels Shared Driver on my computer.

Haven't tried it yet but might see what happens as there is only one program that I print from Windows 11.

Question (since you seem to know more about Parallels/Windows 11 more than I do), If I want to try removing - at least temporarily the printer - do I just have to do that through Windows settings or is there something I have do through Parallels also? (Never tried removing a printer while running Windows under Parallels before.)
Also, if I try this - and it works to get the update LOL - what is the proper way to then try adding the printer back to Windows?
    Thanks for any suggestions.

I don't know for sure, but I think you just remove the printer in the Windows settings and add it there again later.

Yes that is the published workaround - remove the printer, do the upgrade, then add the printer back.

I just saw today there are holds on this release for other issues as well - these have been reported: Another hold was put on some Intel PCs. Microsoft says some versions of the Intel SST Audio controller driver are causing BSODs on Windows 11 2022 Update. Microsoft has also recently warned of performance issues when copying large files.
