I just saw today there are holds on this release for other issues as well - these have been reported: Another hold was put on some Intel PCs. Microsoft says some versions of the Intel SST Audio controller driver are causing BSODs on Windows 11 2022 Update. Microsoft has also recently warned of performance issues when copying large files.

I have a great update for you from my previous posts. I decided to take my "Dev" channel switched version and rollback to a time machine Windows 11 VM backup before I had the initial failed install. Anyway. Upon rolling back to my Sept 15 backup and booting. All went fine, showing once again, the Windows 11 Pro Retail channel version. It checked for updates and once again pulled the 22h2 Windows 11 Retail channel update for me in my Arm version on Parallels 18.0.2. I didn't have to switch back to Insider Preview (as dev/beta/etc). It is currently downloading the update and I expect no issues as long as I don't let my machine go to "sleep" on me (like happened before). So, I can ONCE AGAIN verify that the ARM Silicon 22H2 is in fact being rolled out in the Retail channel outside the Insider Preview. Attached info here:

It is for me. I rolled back to to the regular version and the update popped up again. Installing now.

I can confirm after this morning. 22H2 installed fine on the Release channel on Windows 11 ARM. Mine is now up and running. It was a little slow at first as it had to update to give new features (like the 'focus' one that turned on by default) and then Parallels Tools had to be updated again. If you don't have the update coming to you yet on the release channel, just give it some time. Push "Windows update" occasionally and when it comes, start downloading it. I admit it is rather large. This is on Parallels 18.0.2 Pro on an M1 MBPro running the Arm version of Windows 11 with a purchased 11 pro license (I put the Xs in for privacy). Not bad for only running on 4GB of allocated memory. No need to go back to the Insider Program and use a Beta, Release preview, or Dev version.

New issue though with Windows update on the 22H2 Release on Arm. I have the following and clicking the "update all" will flash and not install. It simply resets over and over again (see image).

Scratch that. A reboot and multiple pushes of the "update" tab made it research for updates and download and install that one successfully. There *is* however already an update for the 22H2 Arm version (see photo) that may fix the printer driver issue some folks are having after an install.

Well I did remove the Epson printer and changed the settings in Parallels for my VM NOT to share the Mac printer with Windows, restarted Parallels and restarted the Windows 11 VM but the update for 22H2 still won't come up. Might wait a day or so (don't need the printer on the Windows side anyway for now) and check again.

I wouldn't rush it - as posted above there are other problems, and who knows that issues exist that we don't know about. It seems very likely MS has slowed down or stopped the rollout for now. On the Windows 11 forums, where they post the "how to update" information, there are banners now saying, "It is recommended to wait until 22H2 is made available to you through Windows Update."

Well I just reinstalled my Epson Printer (actually looked like Parallels did it automatically when I changed the settings for sharing a Mac printer), so will probably just wait and see what progresses. Thanks.

Here's the MS info page on the 22H2 update for those yet to receive it. I had no printer drivers but the Windows 11 default when I got, and installed, the 22H2 update from MS Update, so this may help some of you as MS says they are rolling the update out to more users as of a few days ago:

If you have the temporary 'block' in place, I would probably use a "wait and see" approach as @SWANDY suggested above.

And since this forum doesn't allow post editing, I'm posting again. Attempting to switch to the Beta Channel just makes the Settings applet lock up.

Okay, I got it to allow me to enable Insider Mode by selecting Release Preview, then later selecting Beta from the main Settings page.

@kode54 Sorry you are still having difficulties. I received 22H2 under the release channel and have it installed and am still getting (cumulative) updates without issue.
Here is my system, below on an M1 MBP under Parallels 18.0.3. You may have had an unsuccessful install and got the 'lock' talked about above. Have you tried to tinker with the registry as opposed to switching to the Insider channel? Although beta is more stable than the Dev channel, did you get the 22H2 update by forcing an update check while under the Beta channel?

I am still on 21H2. I had installed the "release candidate" off the UUP Dump site and I get all the regular Windows 11 updates, but so far nothing about 22H2. Is there anyway to get this without returning to the Windows Insider program? Thanks.

I think downloading a 22H2 iso from uupdump and using it to update (instead of a clean install) should work. I haven't tried that, though.
