One of my computers did not update to Windows 11 22H2. I used Windows 11 Installation Assistant tool (first selection on that page) which did update the computer to 22H2. I had no issues, no data/settings lost, it works great!

It absolutely does - I am running Parallels 18.0.3 on an Apple MacBook Pro M1 Max.

Then something must have changed very recently. It didn't work when I tried it a few weeks ago. And the website still has this disclaimer: "Note: Windows 11 Installation Assistant doesn't run on ARM-based PCs. It's only supported for PCs using x64 processors. If you need installation media to install Windows 11 on a different PC, see Create Windows 11 Installation Media."

Actually (why can't we edit/delete posts?) My apologies, I did it on a non- Apple Silicon computer, sorry for the confusion.

Just now went to Windows Update and a normal update went and installed (sorry forgot what it was exactly) but then I noticed an icon in the right end that I don't remember seeing before - I do remember it had a red dot in the middle of it - and when I clicked on it mentioned something about new features and went to Windows Update and saw the option to install 22H2. Sorry my description isn't better, but I do remember before clicking on this unknown icon, just going to Windows Update did not bring up the option to install 22H2. Downloading now - up to 62%. Will see what happens.

Ok. Installed the 22H2 update :)):):)) and after the restart Parallels Tools said it needed a restart to reinstall Tools. Then next "Cumulative Update for 22H2" came up and is installing now. Progress - everything moving along.

Not to threadjack, but does anyone know if there is any push on 3rd parties to cross compile their drivers? I'm missing a lot of drivers for various USB devices ranging from wifi adapters (like the Atheros AR9381) to game controllers.

Not that I'm aware of. With Windows on ARM not being freely available, there's unfortunately little reason for hardware manufacturers to put resources into the development of ARM drivers. All you can do is contact them and let them know that you need one.

Yeah, I've been contacting a few of them but everyone has shown complete disinterest in ARM

That is great news, Matthias! I'm glad you got 22H2 installed in the regular release channel as well. Now how is your XBox App working? Mine is totally broken after it updated from the MS store, even changing all the settings and running through the uninstall, powershell, reinstall, etc stuff that MS says to do. I can't view anything in my library (despite being logged in) and cloud gaming won't let me remote connect to my XBox anymore.

Congrats! I knew it would only be a matter of time. I must have simply been lucky with being one of the first to be pushed the 22H2 ARM update on WIN11.

The steps I found here just worked for me. I had to check for Windows Updates twice for it to work with a reboot in between. First time installed some other updates, rebooted, and then when I checked again after the reboot it applied 22H2: https://www.stephenwagner.com/2022/11/09/how-to-force-windows-11-22h2-feature-update/

In order to Force Windows 11 22H2 Feature Update, follow the instructions below:

    1. Open the Local Group Policy via the start menu, or run "gpedit.msc".
    2. Expand "Local Computer Policy\Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Update\Manage updates offered from Windows Update"
    3. Open "Select the target Feature Update version"
    4. Set the first field (Which Windows product version would you like to receive feature updates for), to "Windows 11"
    5. Set the second field (Target Version for Feature Updates) to "22H2".
    6. Click Apply, Click Ok, close the windows.
    7. Either restart the system, or run "gpupdate /force" to force the system to see the settings.
    8. Check for Windows Update (From Microsoft Update if you're using WSUS), you should now see the update available. You may need to check a few times and/or restart the system again.
    9. Install the Feature Upgrade, and then go back to the setting and set to "Not Configured" to ensure you receive future feature upgrades.

LOL, I've been beating my head against the wall on this one, thinking it was MS Intune policy preventing the update from showing up. Glad I finally added "arm64" to my search!

Just reporting: I installed 22H2 update today. (of course I made a backup first (CCC)).
Results: It worked very smoothly except that parallels tools wanted to install over and over (reboot did not help). Solution: Instead of reacting to the message that you should reboot to update PT, just reboot once, and then when it comes again, go to parallels menu and choose "reinstall paralalle tools" and then wait and reboot again you will be done.

about 22h2, main changes are you can now drag and drop via taskbar I think, and the taskmanager is "new" but mainly just design-wise. the new functions such as efficieant mode for processes is of little use. As a "reward" (i mean price to pay) for the new cosmetics, you will have to re-activate and sort again all the colums in detailed mode. And you can still not pin windows update to the start menu , just apps. oh well.

This update is still not showing up for me on my MacBook Air M2. Is anyone else still waiting?
